Virtual Ring Light for Webcam Calls

What is a virtual ring light?
A virtual ring light turns the bright area around your screen into an adjustable fill light. You can use a plain light without a camera or deliberately enable a local webcam preview to check framing and reflections. Brightness, color temperature, tint, border thickness, and center size let you balance illumination with the space needed for a call window.
Start private
The page never asks for camera access on load. Choose Enable camera only if you want a preview.
Adjust gently
Begin at low brightness, move the light near camera height, and increase it only until facial shadows soften.
Use fullscreen
Fullscreen provides more luminous area, while a larger center opening keeps your preview visible.
Camera privacy and permissions
Camera access requires your explicit action and the browser’s permission prompt. The video stream is displayed locally in this page; ColorScreen does not upload or record it. When you disable the preview, leave the page, or the component closes, its media tracks are stopped. You can also revoke access through browser site settings.
If permission is denied or no camera is available, pure light mode remains fully usable. A browser may require HTTPS, a foreground tab, and system-level camera permission before it can provide a stream.

Better lighting for calls and portraits
- Place the brightest screen area close to the webcam axis so shadows fall evenly.
- Match color temperature to nearby room lighting rather than choosing the brightest white.
- If glasses reflect the screen, raise it slightly, move it off-axis, or increase the center opening.
- A monitor is a broad fill source, not a replacement for a powerful physical light in a bright room.
